Approximately 80% of Queenslanders charged with a criminal offence decide to plead Guilty.
If our client wants to enter a Guilty plea, we fight to ensure it is done on our client's terms. We make sure:
- The charge is not more serious than it should be
- The correct facts are presented to the Court
- The Court hears the true reasons for what happened
In most cases, the penalty imposed is not imprisonment. The Courts have a wide range of alternative punishments such as bonds, fines, and community service. For a first offence, the Court will often not even record a conviction.
We fight to persuade the Court to impose the lowest appropriate punishment.
